A person is deceived when they think they are saved from hell. Many mistake entirely the nature of salvation, and fail to embrace salvation's blessings. They believe are saved from the punishment of hell and are going to Heaven. So Their hope is to escape sin's penalty. That is not true deliverance from their sins! These people will be unfruitful because they still have a sin consciousness!
2Pe 1:8-9 For if these things are yours and abound, you will be neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
For he who lacks these things is shortsighted, even to blindness, and has forgotten that he was cleansed from his old sins.
